MN West CTC topped the Lady Spartans 75-59 Saturday afternoon. Emily Johnson led the team with 18 points. Whitney Swenson had seven rebounds.

Despite starting out with a 13-4 lead the Lady Spartans ended up losing to Ridgewater CTC 79-69 in Willmar Wednesday night.

Whitney Moore was on fire with 23 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Emily Johnson and Kelsey Draper each added eight points.

Minneapolis CTC defeated the Lady Spartans 80-58 Saturday afternoon. This was Minneapolis CTC's last game in Fergus Falls as they are dropping their basketball programs.

The Lady Spartans were defeated by Riverland CC 65-59. Jess Amann led the Lady Spartans with 14 points. Whitney Moore had 13 points and six rebounds. Kelsey Steidl had six rebounds and Emily Johnson made all three of her three point field goal attempts, finishing with nine points.

Jess Amann led the Lady Spartans over St. Cloud Tech Wednesday night 69-64. Amann had 29 points, five assists and five rebounds. Whitney Moore had 13 points and nine rebounds. Whitney Swenson added ten points.

The Lady Spartans were defeated by the Anoka Ramsey CC Golden Rams 85-49 on Saturday.

The Lady Spartans were defeated by Ridgewater Community College 78-68 Saturday. The Spartans shot only 25% in the final twenty minutes of the game, shooting 35% overall. Whitney Moore led the team with 17 points. Jess Amann and Emily Johnson each had ten points while Whitney Swenson had seven rebounds.

The Lady Spartans are 6-9 on the season and 0-2 in divisional play.

The Lady Spartans struggled with their shooting game, shooting only 23% in their 82-55 loss to Minneapolis Community & Technical College. Jess Amann led the Lady Spartans with 14 points and seven rebounds while Emily Johnson added 13 points.

Itasca CC defeated the Lady Spartans 76-56 on Saturday in Grand Rapids.

The Lady Spartans dropped a game to Central Lakes College 65-59 on Friday in Brainerd but came back to beat Rainy River Community College 81-60 on Saturday.

The Lady Spartans are now 6-6 going into the Christmas break.

The Lady Spartans defeated Fond du Lac CTC 89-36 and Central Lakes College 74-66 over the weekend.

The Lady Spartan were defeated by Rainy River Community College 69-61 Friday but rebounded with a win Saturday afternoon 63-50 over Hibbing Community College.

The Concordia Cobber Women's JV team defeated the Lady Spartans Tuesday night 72-43.

The Lady Spartans fell to Northland CTC in Thief River Falls Tuesday 71-59. Their next game is Tuesday, Dec. 1 in Fergus Falls vs. Concordia JV.

The Lady Spartans struggled early in the game and were unable to recover in their loss to Mayville State JV Thursday night 91-67.

The Lady Spartans topped the Northland CTC Pioneers 76-72 in overtime Saturday.

The Lady Spartans' next home game is Tuesday Dec. 1 at 1:00 vs. Concordia JV.

In a hard fought battle that featured many lead changes, the M State Lady Spartans lost to a very good Itasca Viking team 73-71 in overtime. The two teams entered overtime tied at 66, but Itasca scored the first 6 point of overtime to take a 72-66 lead. The Spartans roared back. Sophomore captain Jess Amann highlighted the comeback by sinking three straight free throws after being fouled on a three point attempt. This closed the gap to 72-71. Itasca hit one free throw with 12 seconds left to make it a two point game. Amann had a final shot with 1.6 seconds left on the clock. The shot missed, but Emily Johnson grabbed the rebound and hit the bucket before the horn sounded. The officials ruled that the clock had not been started on time and that the rebound basket by Johnson did not count, resulting in the Itasca victory.

Jess Amann led the Lady Spartans with 21 points all coming in the second half. Amann also had 7 rebounds and 2 steals. Freshmen Emily Johnson and Whitney Moore each added 16 points. Johnson also had 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Freshman Whitney Swenson had 10 rebounds and 7 points.

They (the Vikings) were quick and we didn't stop there penetration like we should have, they just ran us better than we ran them," M-State coach Ann Williams said. "We need to play better defense and start picking up more boards. The inside game really hurt us tonight. We would try to double down low and they (the Vikings) just did a nice job dishing the ball off almost every time. We're not going to be a dynamic scoring team, so we really need to tighten up on defense. We've got a lot of ball handlers on this team and were still looking to see who's going to emerge as our shooters."

The Spartans play Northland CTC Saturday, Nov. 14 at home. The women play at 1:00 followed by the men at 3:00.
