Conducting Performance Appraisals

This course will help supervisors address the generally difficult part of appraising performance - that being unacceptable behavior. Supervisors will learn techniques to help make this discussion more performance focused and improvement oriented.

Participants will learn to:

  • Identify the performance problems.
  • Describe the problem(s) clearly and concisely.
  • Use words and phrases to start the conversation.
  • Manage emotional responses.
  • Manage excuses.
  • Apply techniques toward performance improvement.
