Mission Statement
The Moorhead Community & Technical College Foundation mission is to help students afford their education by building partnerships with businesses, individuals and
organizations. The Foundation promotes workforce development by securing equipment, supplies and scholarships to enhance the programs and provide needed financial assistance to
qualified M State students. This includes developing annual giving programs, acquiring major gifts and providing direction for the solicitation of gifts.
Foundation History
The Moorhead Technical College Foundation, Inc. (also known as the MCTC Foundation) was created in 1991 and is a Minnesota nonprofit corporation exempt from federal income tax
under Section 501©(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws are on record with the secretary, along with minutes of all meetings conducted. An
annual contract with the college reaffirms its common goals and commitment. The Foundation works exclusively to support the mission of the M State, Moorhead.
Who is Served?
The 2,400-student body is primarily from North Dakota and Minnesota. Many students are from working-class families and are classified as non-traditional. They are in the
workforce part-time or holding full-time working schedules while attending classes. Therefore, they are balancing family life, work schedules, and daycare. It is estimated that
85% require financial aid and complete their education with student loan payments. The Foundation serves underserved and special populations, including individuals with
disabilities, individuals from economically disadvantaged families, individuals preparing for nontraditional fields, single parents and single pregnant women, displaced homemakers
and individuals with limited English proficiency.
