Tuition Rates & Fees

M State establishes a due date each semester for final payment of tuition and fees. Students who have not paid in full, do not have a financial aid deferment, or have not established a payment plan risk the possibility of having their registration cancelled. The College may grant an extension of the payment due date for students who have filed and are awaiting properly approved financial aid from federal, state or other third-party sources.

Tuition for all M State students is set annually by the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees and charged on a per credit basis. Funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 have been used to limit tuition increases this year.

Fees are assessed to students depending on their enrollment status, courses attempted, and services offered by the campus attended. Fees unique to a program or a class are detailed in the course requirement list.

FACTS/NBS Payment Plan

M State offers students an additional payment plan option for students through a third-party tuition payment service provider, Nelnet Business Solutions/FACTS.

The Nelnet/FACTS payment plan provides:

  • Convenient monthly payment options that can begin early enough to spread payments out over several months
  • Automatic payments that can be authorized from designated checking, savings or credit card accounts (American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa)
  • Direct communications from Nelnet/FACTS on payment plan status and updates
  • Low enrollment fee to students of $21 per semester (nonrefundable enrollment fee)
  • Protection from registration cancellation for non-payment

Nelnet/FACTS online enrollment periods generally begin when semester registration starts and closes on the date tuition is due. More payment options are available the earlier a student enrolls. An online cost-estimating tool is available to assist students with determination of payment plan contract amount.

Login to e-Cashier to learn more about the Nelnet/FACTS Payment Plan.
