M State Fitness Center

The Fitness Center is funded through your student fees. Stop by the center, located on the west side of campus (just inside door W2), and check out all it offers YOU!

After signing a Membership Agreement, you are encouraged to participate in any and all of the events, attend group fitness classes and schedule personal training, an Equipment Orientation or Fitness Assessment so you will feel more comfortable and confident using the entire facility. Student ID and a clean, dry pair of sneakers are REQUIRED.

Upcoming Events:

  • An aMazing Race - September 19-October 10

  • 6th Annual Happy, Healthy Holidays - preregistration begins October 15. The weight loss challenge is October 22-December 6

  • 6th Annual Run/Walk Through Minnesota - preregistration begins March 4. The virtual race kicks off March 18-April 22

  • Build It Up Challenge - February 4-March 1

Group exercise classes are offered daily. Have you ever wanted to try a class but weren't quite sure? The M State Fitness Center has multi-level classes focused on beginners, but advanced participants are guaranteed a great workout. Choose from yoga, pilates, meditation, dance fitness and a variety of core classes.

The Fitness Center now has TRX (suspension trainers), Core Flytes and a Life Fitness PowerMill.

Anime-Zing

Advisor: (TBD)

The Anime Club promotes an understanding and appreciation of Asian culture through the viewing and discussion of anime

Auto Club

Advisor: Dennis Miller

The Auto Tech Club is composed of students who have an interest in the automotive industry. The purpose of the club is to build camaraderie among the automotive students and to work together to organize fund raising events. With the funds raised, an annual trip is taken to a location of the students' choice. The club strives to improve the program by allocating funds for equipment and scholarships for the improvement of the program.

Business Professionals of America

Advisors: Nancy Stigen

Business Professionals of America is a national career and technical student organization that serves students enrolled in business programs. The mission of BPA is to contribute to the preparation of world-class workforce through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, academic and technological skills. Members are involved in leadership, community service projects at the local level, and competitions at the state and national levels.

Christian Bible Fellowship

Advisor: Sue Anderson

Christian Bible Fellowship offers students an opportunity to explore issues related to faith and spirituality through weekly Bible studies.

Criminal Justice Association

Advisor: Jeffrey Nelson

The Criminal Justice Association is an organization for students who have an interest in criminal justice.

Dental Assisting

Advisor: Crystal Shumake

M State Dental Assisting Association is composed of students interested in dental assisting. This organization promotes the advancement of the careers of dental assistants and the dental assisting profession in matters of education and professional activities which enhance the delivery of quality dental health care to the public.

Diesel Club

Advisor: Dick Weber

Diesel Club is composed of students interested in diesel technology. This organization promotes camaraderie within the group and works together to raise funds to take a bi-annual Diesel Club trip. The students work on projects in their field of study after class to gain knowledge and earn the needed money to pay for the trip.

Engineering Club

The Engineering Club supports students interested in pursuing a career in engineering

Pride Alliance

Advisor: Marisa Gonzalez

The Pride Alliance is a source of information and a safe zone for all LGBTQ+ students.

Student American Dental Hygienists' Association (SADHA)

Advisor: Sydney Stoa

SADHA is composed of students of the Dental Hygiene program. This organization promotes the art and science of dental hygiene, represents the common interests of the members of the dental hygiene profession and contributes toward the improvement of the oral health of the public.

SkillsUSA Club

Advisor: Dick Weber

SkillsUSA Club is an organization in the trades and technical fields. SkillsUSA is a national organization and has different state and national competitions that M State competes in. We are always looking for more participation and for ways to earn the needed funds to compete at the state and national levels.

Student Government Association (SGA)

Advisor: Teresa Stolfus

The Student Senate is a group of elected representatives who advocate for the students of M State through recommendations to administration. In addition to creating bills and petitions, student senators are consulted on all major budgetary issues as mandated by Minnesota State policy. Senators also undertake philanthropic efforts such as food drives and fundraisers.

Student Human Resources Organization (SHRO)

Advisor: Loren Haagenson

SHRO is a cocurricular organization designed to acquaint students considering a future in business within the field of human resource management and/or labor relations. Students increase their knowledge of new developments in the human resource field and develop leadership and content competencies through interaction with human resource professionals and participation in college and community events. SHRO is a chartered student organization with the Society for Human Resource Management. Students are able to join the society for Human Resource Management as student members, allowing further development of their professional skills.

Student Nursing Organization

Advisor: Shannon Dahms

Student Nursing Organization is a cocurricular organization designed to interest nursing students in the field of nursing and medicine. Students increase their knowledge of best practices in the nursing field and develop leadership and content competencies through interaction with industry partners and participation in college and community events. Students are able to join SNO as student members, allowing further development of their professional and leadership skills.

Technology, Gaming & Robotics Club

Advisor: Tim Preuss

TGRC provides opportunities for hands-on projects in the fields of technology, gaming and robotics.
