The Minnesota State Community and Technical College Jazz Band invites you to warm up with the hot sounds of jazz at its annual fall concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, in Waage Theatre on the Fergus Falls campus.
The M State - Fergus Falls associate in fine arts degree offers students experiences in visual and performing arts disciplines with an emphasis on developing strong portfolios of work and preparing for fine arts study at the university level.
Many students who earn their AFA degree transfer to either a bachelor of arts or bachelor of fine arts program at a four-year college, university or art school. Other students use the knowledge and skills gained in this program to launch careers in the arts.
With the AFA for music, students can transfer and continue their education toward careers in instrumental or vocal performance, composition, music education or music therapy. Exceptional music facilities include our instrumental and choral rehearsal hall, music composition computer lab, piano studios and Steinway performance grand piano.
Scholarships are available specifically for qualified students in the music and visual arts program at M State - Fergus Falls through Fergus Area College Foundation. Applications are available from the Student Services Office or from music faculty.
Whether you are pursuing the study of music as a professional career or for pleasure and life enrichment, you will experience rewarding and challenging studies tailored to your individual needs and goals at M State.
Available scholarships include the Geneva Eschweiler Scholarship for music majors, Foundation scholarships for choral and band participation and scholarships for private study in piano, voice and instrumental study.
Auditions for the 2014-2015 school year will be from 2-4 p.m. April 1 and 2, 2014. You're encouraged to contact us for an audition appointment by calling M State at (218) 736-1600.
