About ITS

Information Technology Services (ITS) is led by Dan Knudson, who reports directly to the office of the President. ITS is made up of three key departments: Computer Help Center, Technical Services and Web Applications. Each of these Departments report directly to the Chief Information Officer.


Computer Help Center

Computer Help Center staff provide technical support for hardware and software used by M State students, faculty and staff, and should be your first point of contact for all technology-related issues. The Computer Help Center services include:

  • Configure student laptops to connect to MState IT resources
  • Desire2Learn (D2L)
  • StarID
  • Campus Printing
  • Classroom projectors, AV and ITV equipment and other voice conferencing systems
  • Maintains and distributes college-wide site license software
  • Technology purchasing

Technical Services

Technical Services provides the overall support for our campus network infrastructure. Technical Services include:

  • Telecommunications
  • Servers and Networking
  • Video Surveillance
  • Digital Signage
  • Management and Design of Campus Infrastructure (wired and wireless)
  • Backup and Restoration of Data
  • Security Administration
  • Installation of Classroom AV Equipment

Web Applications

Web Applications serves as the first point of contact for the College's Web presence and all Web efforts (any Web resource ending in minnesota.edu). Web Services collaborates with other campus units to ensure a positive user experience for all constituencies, including but not limited to prospective students, current students, alumni, prospective employees, faculty, staff, community members and other visitors. Web Applications includes:

  • Application Development
  • Website Development
  • 3D Modeling
