Remote Access for off-campus database searching
M State libraries provide access to databases from off-campus using a proxy server. The proxy server allows access to the library catalog and electronic periodical databases by authenticating that every individual trying to enter the databases is a valid M State student. When remotely accessing the catalog and the databases, you must click on the off campus link. The library authentication form will require a user name and password. Your user name is the 14 digit barcode on the back of your campus ID card and your password is your last name. Make sure you capitalize the first letter of your last name. Your library barcode must be activated in order to have remote access.
If you need help with remote access using your ID card, you may contact any M State library when it is open. Any of the M State libraries can activate a M State ID card if it did not get activated when it was issued.
