The Community

Fargo-Moorhead, with a population of nearly 200,000, is a vibrant college community. Moorhead is small enough to feel comfortable, yet it offers the benefits of a large metropolitan area with its cultural, recreational and commercial diversity. The thriving business community is a center for agribusiness, marketing, technology and research.

  • Moorhead's population is about 38,000, with a metropolitan population of nearly 200,000.
  • Minnesota State University Moorhead, Concordia College, North Dakota State University and Minnesota State Community and Technical College add about 25,000 students to the Fargo-Moorhead area.
  • Moorhead parks, bike trails, ice facilities, playgrounds, swimming pools, ball diamonds, cross country ski trails, golf courses and the Red River provide many recreational activities.

Career Programs

Well-established programs such as Business Management Marketing and Sales are available at Moorhead and provide the basis for careers in high-demand fields.

An expansive allied health program offers opportunities to enter the medical field with degrees in Practical Nursing and Dental Hygiene.

Partnerships with Case IH and John Deere make the Diesel Equipment Technology program at Moorhead unique and valuable to students who wish to pursue this specialized equipment as a career path.

At the heart of our Graphic Design department is the desire to help students transform their imaginative skills into a career that can artistically enrich their lives and the lives of their clients and consumers.

The Human Resources Management program provides the practical skills needed to succeed in HR. Human resources professionals contribute to the effectiveness of an organization by helping to improve the performance of individuals, groups and enterprises.

Our Refrigeration Maintenance courses prepares students for careers in appliance repair and technical assistance.

M State's Criminal Justice Program has been designated a Professional Peace Officer Education Program by the Minnesota Board of Peace Officer Standards and Training. Students seeking a career in law enforcement have the opportunity to complete all educational and practical requirements necessary to apply for peace officer licensing.

 

Associate in Arts Degree

The Moorhead campus offers the Associate in Arts degree, also called a transfer degree, which is excellent preparation for continued studies in the arts, humanities, mathematics, natural sciences and social sciences. By earning an AA degree, students fulfill the first two years of most four-year degree programs at the state universities in Minnesota, the University of Minnesota and many other private and public institutions.

Directions to Campus

To MAIN Campus:

From the WEST on Interstate 94:

Take Exit 1B (20th Street), turn left onto 20th Street, cross over the interstate and you'll see the college on your left, turn left at 28th Avenue South.


From the EAST on Interstate 94:

Take Exit 1A, turn right onto Hwy 75, immediately after your right turn, you will turn at the Minnesota State Community & Technical College directional sign and follow frontage road (28th Avenue) around to the College.


From the EAST on Highway 10:

Turn left at intersection of 21st Street. One light beyond HWY 75th North. The VFW and Burger King is on your right. Follow 21st street under the railroad tracks, the street curves at the next railroad track, but continue straight and you will be on 20th street south. Follow this about two miles to 28th Avenue South. The College is on your right.
