Professional Information
I have been in nursing for 29 years and my educational experience started in the Practical Nursing Program at Fergus Falls Community College graduating in 1976. I returned to Fergus Falls and graduated in 1999 with an ADRN and then graduated in 2004 from MSUM with my BSN. I am currently working on a Masters Degree at the Tri-College in Moorhead in Nursing Education.
I have worked in many areas of nursing including long-term care, acute care, clinic nursing, public health, and chiropractic. In the Public Health setting I worked in the maternal-child health setting and did education with individual clients as well as group education. I have also taught more than 25 years for the American Red Cross and American Heart Association teaching CPR and First Aid.
I am certified by both the American Red Cross and American Heart Association to teach CPR and First Aid.
Personally, I enjoy spending time with my family doing a variety of outdoor activities. I love gardening both in the flower and vegetable gardens. I enjoy most outdoor activities as well as indoor hobbies such as sewing and needle arts. I also have a passion for working with the Miss America Pageant System and do a variety of pageant related activities.
I want students to know that becoming a nurse is a very exciting career filled with many rewards. There are so many opportunities in nursing and a variety of places to work. Our program offers a variety of options for students to go to school full-time or part-time.
I enjoy working with students and watching the growth and success as students complete their educational experience.
There is always so much to learn from my students. I am also extremely involved in the community and belong to a variety of organizations. I am active in the Becker County Fair, Church, 4-H Programs, Miss America System, and others.
