Explore Careers in Health Care!
Campers will have the chance to explore health care careers at Scrubs Camp on the Fergus Falls campus of Minnesota State Community and Technical College. The camp gives high school students entering grades 9-12 the opportunity to learn about the many careers in health sciences through hands-on activities and treks into health care facilities in the community.
Scrubs Camp is cosponsored by HealthForce MN, the Center of Excellence in health care for the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system. The center focuses on health care innovation, diversity and learning. The first Scrubs Camp was held in 2008 in Winona, and this year 14 of the popular camps will be offered throughout the state.
The $100 Fergus Falls camp fee includes meals in the M State cafeteria, the set of scrubs that participants will wear during the camp and an array of hands-on sessions led by health care professionals and instructors in the college's health care programs.
Sessions run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily during the camp, and scholarships are available for students with financial need.
M State offers health care career opportunities through its programs in biological sciences, nursing, cardiovascular technology, dialysis technician, radiologic technology, surgical technology, medical lab technology, phlebotomy, dental assisting, dental hygiene, pharmacy technology, health information technology and medical office specialties.
