Academic and Leadership Scholarships

The Fergus Area College Foundation makes a variety of academic scholarships available to students at M State - Fergus Falls. To be considered for a scholarship, you must be accepted to M State prior to March 1st. No separate scholarship application is necessary; all students accepted to the college by the March 1 deadline will be considered for scholarships.

Freshman scholarships are awarded on the basis of ACT scores, high school GPA and demonstrated leadership experience. Scholarship awards are renewed for a second year at M State - Fergus Falls for students who earn a college GPA of 3.0 or better.

Awards range from $500 to full tuition paid per academic year. Students with exemplary academic achievements will have the opportunity to apply for the full-tuition paid Presidential Scholarships. Applications for the Presidential Scholarships will be mailed to eligible students along with their initial scholarship award notices. Students will be notified of their scholarship award prior to April 1st.

Scholarships are available yearly for current M State - Moorhead students with most awards being presented at the Annual Donor Recognition and Scholarship Awards Ceremony held each April. Applications are available in the M State - Moorhead student services office and are accepted after January 1. Deadlines will be posted. Eligibility criteria include, but are not limited to, GPA, credits accomplished, financial need and specific program choice.

Students enrolled at M State - Wadena may be eligible for scholarship funds as donors contribute each year. Contact the M State - Wadena admissions office at 218.631.7800 for the latest details.

In 2007, a new M State Foundation was established to benefit students college-wide. As donors contribute and the M State Foundation grows, scholarships will become available to even more M State students who qualify.
