The Fergus Area College Foundation awards scholarships each year to both first year and second year students enrolled at M State - Fergus Falls. Applications are reviewed for excellence in academics, demonstration of leadership, and clear thoughtful written communication. Students also may audition for music and drama scholarships. Each year, about 125 to 150 M State - Fergus Falls students receive one of many scholarship awards ranging from $300 to $3,000. The Presidential Scholarship is awarded each year to four recipients - two first-year students and two second-year students.

Applications can be obtained from the M State - Fergus Falls student services office, and from most area high school guidance offices. The application deadline for incoming full-time, first-year students is March 1, prior to August enrollment. The application deadline for second-year returning and transfer students is May 1.

Music auditions or drama auditions are scheduled for students interested in pursuing a music or drama scholarship. You may contact them directly by email or call the M State Fine Arts Department at 218.736.1600.

Scholarships are available yearly for current M State - Moorhead students with most awards being presented at the Annual Donor Recognition and Scholarship Awards Ceremony held each April. Applications are available in the M State - Moorhead student services office and are accepted after January 1. Deadlines will be posted. Eligibility criteria include, but are not limited to, GPA, credits accomplished, financial need and specific program choice.

Students enrolled at M State - Wadena may be eligible for scholarship funds as donors contribute each year. Contact the M State - Wadena admissions office at 218.631.7800 for the latest details.

In 2007, a new M State Foundation was established to benefit students college-wide. As donors contribute and the M State Foundation grows, scholarships will become available to even more M State students who qualify.
