Fergus Area College Foundation offers a variety of scholarships to both first- and second-year students at M State in Fergus Falls. Most scholarship awards are based on academic and leadership performance. There are several scholarships that are based on students' special interests.
Freshman priority scholarship applications must be submitted by March 1. Incoming freshmen may apply after this priority deadline, although scholarships will be awarded only as long as funding is available.
Freshman scholarships are awarded on the basis of ACT scores, high school GPA, demonstrated leadership experience and written responses to several questions. Scholarship awards are renewed for a second year at M State - Fergus Falls Campus for students who earn a first-year college GPA of 3.0 or better.
Awards range from $500 to full tuition paid per academic year. Students with exemplary academic achievements will have the opportunity to apply for a full-tuition Presidential Scholarship. Applications for the Presidential Scholarships will be mailed to eligible students along with their initial scholarship award notices.
Second-year students who were not awarded a freshman scholarship are also welcome to apply for the second-year student scholarship. The application deadline for second-year scholarships is April 1. Students must be registered for fall semester courses to be considered. Award notifications will be sent out shortly after spring semester grades are posted.
