Housing Resident Communications Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Develop marketing materials to promote residential life education and entertainment programming.
  • Communicate with residence hall occupants about residential life education and entertainment programming.
  • Schedule and facilitate periodic hall meetings to discus policy and programming options with occupants.
  • Collaborate with Housing Resident Programming Assistant to create materials as needed.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress.
  • Model effective academic success strategies.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Minnesota State Community and Technical College Office of Housing and Residential Life values in the delivery of exceptional services to residence hall occupants.
  • Refer residence hall occupants to campus services as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Full time M State Student
  • Completion of at least one year of undergraduate study (you may apply during this time-frame to begin work in the following one)
  • Ability to verify one's identity and authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Preference given to applicants that reside in campus housing.

Compensation

Time Commitment

    • Including a weekly team meeting - Wednesdays 3:30-5:00 PM.

 

Housing Resident Hospitality Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Attend/provide tours of residence halls and units.
  • Provide student specific insight into "life as a residential scholar" to prospective residents.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress.
  • Model effective academic success strategies.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Minnesota State Community and Technical College Office of Housing and Residential Life values in the delivery of exceptional services to residence hall occupants.
  • Refer residence hall occupants to campus services as necessary.

  • Full time M State Student
  • Completion of at least one year of undergraduate study (you may apply during this time-frame to begin work in the following one)

Housing Resident Housekeeping Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Maintain public spaces in residence halls by vacuuming weekly.
  • Remove all expired postings from message boards and doors.
  • Report maintenance concerns to General Maintenance Worker.
  • Attend weekly team meetings.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress.
  • Model effective academic success strategies.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Minnesota State Community and Technical College Office of Housing and Residential Life values in the delivery of exceptional service to residence hall occupants.
  • Refer residence hall occupants to campus services as necessary.

  • Plan resident friendly edutainment programs.
  • Collaborate with Housing Resident Communications Assistant to development marketing materials.
  • Host monthly edutainment events.
  • Attend weekly team meetings.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress.
  • Model effective academic success strategies.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Minnesota State Community and Technical College Office of Housing and Residential Life values in the delivery of exceptional service to residence hall occupants.
  • Refer residence hall occupants to campus services as necessary.

Housing Resident Peer Tutor

Tutoring is offered on a walk-in basis with teams of two or more tutors working together. Peer tutors will be working during the following times daily from 7:00-9:00 PM in the Manor Hall Computer Lab.

Campus Housing Resident Peer Tutors must be competent in at least one, and preferably several, of the following subject areas: Basic Math and Study Skills.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of the key concepts within their assigned subject area(s)
  • Documentation and record keeping
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress.
  • Model effective academic success strategies.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Minnesota State Community and Technical College Office of Housing and Residential Life values in the delivery of exceptional services to residence hall occupants.
  • Refer residence hall occupants to campus services as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Full time M State Student
  • 2.80 GPA with a grade of B or higher is required for subject that you wish to tutor
  • Completion of at least one year of undergraduate study (you may apply during this time-frame to begin work in the following one)
  • Ability to verify one's identity and authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Preference given to applicants that reside in campus housing.
