Internet Access

M State provides both Local Area Network (LAN) and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) connections throughout each of its four campuses. Through the LAN and WLAN connections students can access campus printers, internet resources, and network resources.

LAN connections are available in almost every building, classroom, meeting room, and commons area. They require a LAN adapter installed and configured properly, and a LAN cable to connect your computer to the network. WLAN connections are increasing throughout the Campuses, 90% of campuses are covered through WLAN connections.

WLAN uses radio waves instead of cables to connect your computer to the network. WLAN connections require a WLAN adapter installed and configured properly in your computer. In addition to having a WLAN adapter, M State requires the use of a Virtual Private Network (VPN) client for a secure connection.

It is recommended that you bring your laptop computer to the Campus Help Desk to ensure that your computer is set-up properly and has the ability to access these resources
