M State uses the Accuplacer assessment to help you prepare an academic plan that fits your skill levels in reading, writing and mathematics. This assessment allows us to place you in the level of courses where you are most likely to succeed.
You are required to take the Accuplacer assessment before registering for classes unless you meet one of the following criteria:
If you have earned an AA or AS degree but have not completed the math requirements for a new degree or program, you will need to take the Accuplacer math exam. There is no charge for the first Accuplacer assessment, but there may be a nominal retest fee. Only one retest is allowed per academic year.
As an eCampus student there are three ways to take your Accuplacer assessment test.
Subject matters included are:
*Bilingual math, finance and Spanish tutoring are offered only through Smarthinking.
You will receive your login information through your student email account at the beginning of each term you are enrolled.
eCampus students who need assistance with Learning or Disability Services should contact Claudia Simon at Claudia.Simon@minnesota.edu or 218-299-6882.
Current M State students taking an eCampus course or program can access all course and program information through SpartanNet.
You will want to print and use the SpartanNet Navigation Guide that we have posted for you, as you will be working in your SpartanNet portal on a daily basis.
Current M State students are encouraged to take full advantage of all the books, journals, databases and other educational resources available through the M State Library. Click here to learn more and to access library resources online.
If SpartanNet is ever down, you can access D2L here.
