ART2260 – Art, Portfolio Design and Professional Development pdf

Description: Meets MnTC Goal Area 6F. This course provides instruction in the creation and design of art-specific professional documents, presentation methods and image recording, including print and non-print. Students will conduct research on the work of professional artists, identifying, examining and comparing sources to support the creation of an informed artistic portfolio.

Competencies:
  1. Evaluate the documents, methods and technologies artists use to promote their art work and careers.
  2. Identify and develop presentation methods for artistic works using non-print delivery systems.
  3. Record images of artistic works using digital photography, scanning or other technologies.
  4. Evaluate and explain image usage in generating an online portfolio of artistic works.
  5. Identify elements of art-specific document design.
  6. Analyze and evaluate the writing in art-specific documents.
  7. Develop an art-specific curriculum vitae.
  8. Develop an art-specific artist statement.
