Description: This course prepares the student with the knowledge and skills necessary to complete site layout and a basic knowledge of footings and foundations for residential construction.
Prerequisites: None
Corequisites: None
Competencies:
  1. Accurately set up and use builders levels, and transit levels.
  2. Determine and establish elevations and layout angles.
  3. Layout building lines using pythagorean theorem method for squaring, and check the layout for accuracy.
  4. Describe the composition of concrete and factors affecting its strength, durability, and workability.
  5. Explain the reasons for reinforcing concrete and describe the materials used.
  6. Explain techniques used for the proper placement and curing of concrete.
