Description: This course allows the student to learn and develop cake-decorating skills to a marketable level.
Prerequisites: Approved equivalent experience
Corequisites: None
  1. Exhibit safety and sanitation standards.
  2. Exhibit teamwork and professionalism.
  3. Identify and prepare cakes utilizing a variety of formulas and techniques.
  4. Identify and prepare a variety of buttercreams, icings and fondants.
  5. Identify and utilize cake decorating tools and equipment.
  6. Identify and demonstrate frosting and icing of layer cakes and sheet cakes.
  7. Identify and create borders, flowers, leaves and other decorative elements.
