  1. Recognize the different elements and terminology of compensation including direct and indirect compensation.
  2. Review the different forms of pay.
  3. Explain the motivating value of compensation.
  4. Identify the elements of the pay model, including the objectives of efficiency, fairness and compliance.
  5. Examine the importance of job analysis, job descriptions/specifications, and job evaluation in administering a compensation plan.
  6. Demonstrate the job analysis process.
  7. Compare different job evaluation methods.
  8. Explain linking compensation to organizational objectives.
  9. Identify the role of performance appraisals in compensation decisions.
  10. Explain the government and legal issues in compensation.
  11. Critique the decisions involved in designing a competitive pay policy including pay levels, mix, and structure.
