METC2222 – Fluid Power Systems pdf

Description: This course teaches fundamental skills in hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Participants will perform hands-on experiments wherein they construct circuits that teach the operation of components and circuits as used in real-world applications. At the completion of this course, participants will be able to install, start up and operate basic systems.
Prerequisites: CPTR1104 AND MATH0090
Corequisites: (None)
  1. 1. Demonstrate knowledge of fluid power symbols /schematics
  2. 2. Identify and describe pneumatic components within systems
  3. 3. Identify and describe hydraulic components within systems
  4. 4. Demonstrate knowledge of fluid mechanics physics
  5. 5. Construct simple pneumatic/hydraulic systems
  6. 6. Assemble basic control circuits
  7. 7. Perform simple pneumatic/hydraulic circuitry calculations
  8. 8. Demonstrate fluid power component troubleshooting
  9. 9. Demonstrate safe working procedures
  10. 10. Demonstrate professionalism, dependability and organizational skills
