MRNT2222 – Transom and Mid-Section Service pdf

Description: This course teaches the various methods used to couple the engine to the vertical drive on sterndrive applications. On outboards this course covers the mid-sections. Removal and replacement, failure analysis, measurements, disassembly and assembly procedures are performed.

  1. Utilize marine literature for repair.
  2. Identify midsection components.
  3. Identify transom assemblies and components.
  4. Identify marine sealants and lubricants.
  5. Remove and install marine vertical drives.
  6. Remove and install marine gearcases.
  7. Explain transom service.
  8. Explain midsection service.
  9. Adjust transom shift cables.
  10. Adjust outboard shift cables.
  11. Disassemble transom assemblies.
  12. Reassemble to factory specifications transom assemblies.
  13. Perform sterndrive waterpump repair.
  14. Perform outboard waterpump repair.
