MRNT2233 – Engine Performance Rebuild and Diagnostics pdf

Description: This course covers the disassembly, inspection of serviceability and the return of the equipment to the manufacturer's specifications or to a higher performance level. Included in this course is the analysis/diagnosis of the reason for failure and the prevention of future like failures. Students are welcome to bring in their own engine for this course providing it fits the curriculum.

Competencies:
  1. Determine failure causes.
  2. Repair or replace failed engine components.
  3. Describe engine mechanical testing procedures.
  4. Perform engine adjustments.
  5. Determine component serviceability.
  6. Troubleshoot runability issues.
  7. Disassemble engine according to outlined procedures.
  8. Inspect lubrication system.
  9. Inspect cooling system.
  10. Perform engine noise diagnosis.
  11. Describe timing procedures.
  12. Perform timing procedures.
  13. Assemble engine according to outlined procedures.
  14. Install engine.
  15. Run engine and adjust to factory specifications.
  16. Classify engine oil ratings as established by the American Petroleum Institute (API).
