PWST2302 – Advanced Power Equipment pdf

Description: This course covers overhaul procedures on outdoor power equipment. Students will make adjustments for optimum performance, learn multi-angle valve grinding procedures and the effects of modifications on a four-cycle engine. The course will also cover electrical and engine troubleshooting.

  2. Identify the design and discuss the operation of lubrication systems.
  3. Identify the design and discuss the operation of four stroke valve train systems.
  4. Perform multi-angle valve job.
  5. Adjust engine governor systems.
  6. Adjust fuel system for optimum performance.
  7. Identify and discuss the purpose and basic operation of four stroke counter-balancers and decompressors.
  8. List and discuss the basic diagnostic procedures associated with four stroke engines.
  9. Adjust valve lash according to manufacturer's specifications.
  10. Understand manufacturer's safety systems.
  11. Perform customer service on power equipment.
  12. Verify different types of ignition systems and diagnostic repair procedures.
