"We are excited to have Cody as our new baseball coach," said Gary Henrickson, M State dean of academics for liberal arts and sciences. "He brings excitement and energy to the table and is very knowledgeable about the game of baseball. We also want to thank Jake Erickson for the outstanding job he did this spring. We wish him the best of luck."
The Spartans play in the Central Division of the Minnesota College Athletic Conference and placed third in the division this year.
Fergus Falls native Kyle Shaikoski played baseball and basketball for M State from 2009-2011 and continued his baseball career at the University of Jamestown (N.D.). Last season Kyle was an assistant coach at the University of Jamestown, and this spring he serves as a pitching coach for the Spartans. He has a bachelor's degree in physical education and currently resides in Fergus Falls.
