Submit your high school and college transcripts
Use the following form to contact your high school guidance office or college registrar to request a copy of your transcript(s) be sent to M State. Click here for a request form.
Complete the Immunization Form
You're exempt from completing the immunization form if you were born before 1957 or graduated from a Minnesota high school after 1997. If required, you can access the immunization form here.
Determine how you are paying for your courses and additional expenses at M State
Visit Paying For College for your financial options, financial aid office contact information and assistance.
If you're a resident of North Dakota, South Dakota or Wisconsin, you will also need to complete a reciprocity form. Click here for more form information.
Schedule Assessment Testing
The college will notify you if you need to take the M State Accuplacer Assessment test. If required, assessment testing is available in person at Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, Moorhead or Wadena. Distance Education students will receive instructions on proctors, test log-in and other information as needed.

Attend a Student Orientation and Registration Day
If you're a new student who plans to begin classes in late August, the college will send you Student Orientation and Registration information in April. If you're a new student who plans to begin classes in January, the college will send you Student Orientation and Registration Day information in November. All new M State students attend a Student Orientation and Registration Day. During this session, you will review your transfer evaluation or test scores and choose which classes you will take. Pay Tuition and Fees
During Student Welcome Day, student services will inform you of the Registration Cancellation for Non-Payment date for M State. A portion of your tuition and fees will need to be paid prior to starting classes. You should also be prepared to pay for books and supplies prior to starting classes.
