The Elementary Education Transfer Pathway makes it possible for you to seamlessly transfer into designated bachelor's degree programs at any of the Minnesota State system's seven universities: Bemidji State University, Metropolitan State University, Minnesota State University Mankato, Minnesota State University Moorhead, Southwest Minnesota State University, St. Cloud State University and Winona State University.
Upon completion of this 60-credit AS degree, you'll be a thoroughly prepared elementary teacher candidate ready to create engaging and inclusive classrooms and help students develop knowledge and skills. Required coursework will set you up for a smooth and successful transition as you continue on to pursue a teaching degree.
When you complete a Transfer Pathway associate degree, you are guaranteed junior-year status within your designated bachelor’s degree program; your 60 credits earned at M State will directly transfer.
Elementary education transfer pathway instruction includes:
- How to design dynamic classroom learning activities using modern technology and research-based practices.
- Written, verbal, and interpersonal skills appropriate to a wide variety of various educational settings.
- Strategies for creating classrooms that are response to various learning styles, diversity, cultural differences, and ethnic identities.
- Theories and philosophies that deepen understanding of the learning process and impact instructional decisions.
Field Experiences
Field experiences are an important part of this program. You'll complete these experiences as part of course assignments, outside of class meeting times.
