PowerSports earns national acclaim
The PowerSports Technology program at M State has been named 2024 College of the Year by the Equipment and Engine Training Council (EETC) for its outstanding commitment to excellence in education and training in the powersports industry.
The EETC, a national nonprofit known for its rigorous standards in training and education, presented the award in April during a ceremony in North Carolina. The award acknowledges institutions that demonstrate exemplary performance in preparing students for careers in equipment and engine technology.
M State’s PowerSports Technology program has long been a leader in technical training, offering hands-on programs that equip students with essential skills in mechanics, diagnostics, and repair of a wide range of powersports vehicles. The college’s innovative curriculum and high-quality facilities have garnered attention for producing job-ready graduates who meet the demands of a rapidly evolving industry.
"This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our faculty, staff and students," says Dr. Mark Bannatyne, Dean for the School of Applied Technology at M State. "We strive to create an environment that fosters learning and growth, and this recognition highlights our commitment to providing top-notch education."
The EETC praised M State for its focus on modern technologies and real-world applications, which are crucial in today’s competitive job market. The program includes partnerships with leading manufacturers and local businesses, providing students with invaluable internship opportunities and hands-on experience.
"It feels great to be part of a program that’s being recognized nationally," says Dawson Rosenberg, a second-year PowerSports Technology student. "The skills I've gained here are going to help me a lot in my career."
As part of the award, PowerSports Technology will receive additional funding for program enhancements and scholarships, furthering its mission to expand educational opportunities for aspiring technicians.
