Healthcare Pipeline
PATH-MN grant program manager, Dean of Health Sciences, Human Services and Nursing, Dean of Business and IT, Healthcare Careers Outreach Specialist, K12 Partnership Liaison
Project Purpose
In early 2021, M State conducted a survey of regional healthcare employers to understand their workforce needs and how the college could meet those needs by implementing accelerated career pathways. All employers reported they are unable to keep pace with current demand for skilled workers. Programs at M State are well established, yet they lack a formalized process for guided career pathways encouraging students to seek higher credentials. Employers have noted that many entry-level workers start in the community and would thrive in healthcare occupations. The desired result is a health professions workforce development pipeline connecting K12 students with the workforce to promote opportunities for education, credentialing, and placement into high demand jobs in their rural communities.
