Description

This course will introduce students to reading and interpreting system and strand maps for the gas, electric and communication industry. Students will also be introduced to reading building blueprints and staking and pole framing sheets.

  1. Identify symbols used in construction blueprints and system maps.
  2. Interpret plot and floor plans.
  3. Compute scales used in the energy industry.
  4. Interpret electric and gas transmission and distribution maps.
  5. Interpret data system cable and strand maps.
  6. Demonstrate an understanding of staking sheets.
