Limited scope radiographers work with healthcare providers to communicate with and position patients for various types of radiography examinations. They manipulate radiographic equipment and accessories, select and adjust technical factors, provide high-quality care and radiation protection to patients, obtain and evaluate diagnostic images, and carry out activities related to equipment quality control. As a student in this program, you’ll be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to confidently perform these duties, in a variety of healthcare settings.
Through a combination of coursework and hands-on clinical assignments, you’ll learn:
- Radiation safety standards
- Proper positioning skills
- Patient care techniques
- Evaluation of radiographs for appropriate anatomy, positioning and image quality
- Standards of professional and ethical behavior
LSR Bridge: a path to an advanced degree
Once you've earned your limited scope radiography (LSR) diploma, expand your training by applying to our LSR Bridge to Radiologic Technology program. If accepted, you'll join radiologic technology students in the final year of their program to receive an additional year of targeted radiologic technology training.
Graduates of this bridge program are eligible to sit for the national radiologic technology exam and are prepared to work as entry-level radiologic technologists.
