About M State
A public two-year college with four campuses in west central Minnesota, M State offers nationally accredited programs to thousands of students annually with on-campus, online, and blended instruction. M State's campuses in Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, Moorhead and Wadena have been serving students and stakeholders for more than 50 years.
Creating M State
Minnesota State Community and Technical College (M State) was formed in July 2003 by the merger of Fergus Falls Community College and three campuses of Northwest Technical College, combining strong career and technical programs and liberal arts and science offerings within one comprehensive college.
Minnesota State System
M State is a member of the Minnesota State system, a collective of 26 colleges, seven universities and 54 campuses. The core commitments of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities are to ensure access to an extraordinary education for all Minnesotans, be the partner of choice to meet Minnesota’s workforce and community needs and deliver the highest value/most affordable higher education option to students, employers, communities and taxpayers.
