Purpose

To ensure Minnesota State Community and Technical College (M State) systems are being maintained properly through consistent patch management.

Definitions

Patches

Commonly known as updates, are pieces of software released after a product’s initial release to fix bugs and security issues discovered.

Policy

Minnesota State Community and Technical College adopts and supports Minnesota State Board Policy 5.23 Security and Privacy of Information Resources.

It is the goal of the Information Technology Department to not only accomplish proper patch hygiene and reinforce system security, but to also abide by governing policies, while maintaining the business functions of the college.
