Description
Meets MnTC Goal Areas 6 and 8. This course is a multi-disciplinary study designed to enhance international perspective on women in the humanities with emphasis on 21st-century women's cultural contributions as composers, artists and social reformers. The course will incorporate studies on women of China, Latin America and Europe.
Competencies
  1. Explore 21st century cultural contributions by women as composers, artists and social reformers.
  2. Articulate an understanding of women's cultural contributions based on societal setting.
  3. Respond critically to music, art, and social reforms and the ideas they present.
  4. Analyze specific international problems pertaining to women, illustrating the cultural, economic and political differences that affect their solutions.
  5. Analyze specific global issues that affect women's contributions in the humanities.
  6. Demonstrate knowledge of cultural, social, religious and political differences and how these differences impact women's lives.
  7. Understand the role of a world citizen and the responsibility world citizens share for their common global future.
