Description
This course is designed to establish a knowledge base in fluoroscopic, mobile and tomographic equipment (including computed tomography) requirements and design. Radiation safety procedures unique to these specialized equipment types will also be covered.
Prerequisites
- Graduation from the M State LSR program
Competencies
- Identify the components of digital and conventional fluoroscopic units.
- Identify various types of imaging units and their usage.
- Explain the purpose, principles and applications of linear tomography.
- Determine the functions of the components of automatic exposure control (AEC) devices.
- Discuss mobile units in terms of purpose, components, types and applications.
- Identify the components and functions of linear and computed tomography equipment.
- Discuss radiation safety practices required for fluoroscopy, mobile radiography, linear tomography and computed tomography.
