Rob Zachariason has been an instructor at M State since 2003. He holds a diploma in construction electricity from Northwest Technical College and a bachelor’s degree in operations management from Minnesota State University in Moorhead. Prior to becoming a full‑time faculty member, he worked as an electrician for 11 years, gaining experience in residential, commercial, small industrial and service work.
Zachariason is a licensed master electrician and licensed electrical contractor in North Dakota and Minnesota. He has authored several industry textbooks, including "Electrical Safety," "Blueprint Reading for Electricians," "Electrical Materials," "Cracking the Code (A Practical Guide to the NEC)," and "Math for Electricians."
In addition, Zachariason serves as an alternate on Code Panels 10 and 17 of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) and as an alternate code panel member for the Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery (NFPA 79).
