Policy
This policy provides for the health and safety of the Minnesota State Community and Technical College community.
Definitions
Health and Safety
Health and safety encompasses personal security, public safety, emergency preparedness, public health, workplace safety, safe and healthful facilities, and protection of environmental, physical and monetary resources.
Purpose
M State seeks to provide a safe, secure and healthy environment in which members of the college can achieve their educational, research, outreach, service and employment goals. The college is committed to providing a safe environment for members of the college community who participate in events or use resources, facilities and services. M State is committed to monitoring and addressing emerging health and safety issues.
Responsibility
Campus Designee
The campus designee shall maintain administrative policies and procedures and implement programs to promote and advance safe, secure and healthy property and programs.
Employees, Students and Community Members
Members of the M State community shall comply with applicable health and safety policies, procedures and laws in order to fulfill their mutual responsibilities for achieving excellence in health and safety. Supervisors have responsibility for those who report to them.
Compliance
The College shall comply with all applicable health, safety and environmental laws, regulations and requirements.
