This course provides the principles of fire ground control through utilization of personnel, equipment and extinguishing agents.
Competencies
- Discuss fire behavior as it relates to strategies and tactics.
- Explain the main components of a pre-fire plan review by identifying the steps within each component.
- Evaluate the affects of building construction on strategy and tactics.
- Describe the steps during size-up.
- Examine the significance of fire ground communications.
- Identify the roles of the National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) and the Incident Command System (ICS) as it relates to strategies and tactics.
- Demonstrate the various roles and responsibilities in ICS.
