Description
Students will develop basic photographic and video production skills and knowledge in this course, using a digital camera for a variety of assignments.
Competencies
- Adjust aperture, shutter speed and camera focus based on a combination of factors including lighting, field depth, subject motion and film speed.
- Demonstrate effective use of digital photo and video cameras with regard to their use in the graphic design industry.
- Create artificial light using flashes and reflectors.
- Determine desired images and picture composition by selecting and adjusting subjects, equipment and lighting to achieve desired effects.
- Manipulate and enhance digital images to create desired effects using computers and specialized software.
- Define and apply video techniques such as panning, zooming, camera angle and lighting considerations.
- Describe and define A-Roll and B-Roll footage and their roles in video storytelling.
- Produce videos using video editing and production software.
- Identify and describe various video formats.
