School of Health Sciences, Human Services and Nursing
Dr. Ken Kompelien was appointed Dean for the School of Health Sciences, Human Services and Nursing in January 2022, bringing more than 25 years of academic excellence and higher education experience, particularly in healthcare education.
His expertise aligns with M State's mission, vision and values, and the college's goal of meeting the needs of the healthcare community and educating the next generation of healthcare workers.
Kompelien earned an Ed.D. in leadership and professional practice from Trevecca University and a master's degree in counseling and bachelor's degree in speech communication from the University of North Dakota. He has researched and written extensively on the role of effective teams in organizations and the role of emotional intelligence as an indicator for success.
