"I heard from everybody I talked to that this was the best program around, that M State’s the best school to go to for line work. Everything here’s high-quality, and there’s enough space and equipment for all of us in the program to get in there and work with what we need to work with. I’ve talked to people from different schools, and they’ve said they don’t have half the equipment M State does. The instructors are really nice, too, and they push you in the right ways.
I’ve got buddies who are linemen right now, and they love it. It’s demanding, but it’s a well-paying job, and from what I’ve heard it’s really enjoyable. I like the heights, and the fact that you’re working with such a powerful force, electricity. You essentially get to play with it and have fun with it – safely, of course. You’ve got to know what you’re doing.
After I complete the program, I’m hoping to find a job in Minnesota, but if I don’t, I don’t; you go where the work is."
