eCampus in the High School Students
Welcome to M State! You are on the right path to making good decisions that will have a positive impact on your future.
Taking eCampus in the High School (eCHS) courses will give you a jumpstart on your college education, save you money and give you college experience with the flexibility of online classes.
Enjoy all the benefits of being an M State student - and consider continuing your education at M State after you graduate!
Prepare for Success in eCHS
Check with your high school counselor to get the start date for your eCHS courses.
Some instructors will have an activity the first day of class in D2L, so it's important to log in and be engaged. If you don't log in, you will risk being dropped from the class with an FN grade (failure to attend).
A StarID is a unique username that can be used at any Minnesota State system college or university. It will give you access to M State's student portal, online classes, library resources and support services.
IMPORTANT! You must activate your StarID before the semester starts.

Check in with your high school counselor before class starts to get required course books and materials.
You are now a college student and along with that comes different expectations and responsibilities than you might be used to in high school. Review eCHS college expectations and understand how they can impact you.
Are you ready to be a college student?
M State eCHS students are held to the same standards and expectations as students in classes taught on the college campus. Success in college begins with understanding college expectations and being accountable. You're encouraged to take M State's College Readiness Self Assessment.
College Expectations
You're expected to log in to D2L daily.
Failure to log in and participate in a course can result in an FN grade (failure to attend). This will remove you from the course and re-entry is not guaranteed.
Email is the official means of communication at the college, so check it daily as some emails may require you to take action.
Expect two to three hours of coursework weekly for each college credit. This means a three-credit course could require up to nine hours of coursework weekly.
If you are struggling, reach out for help immediately. M State has many resources available, including 24/7 tutoring.
Visit Academic Support for more information or contact Megan Adamczyk, director of dual enrollment and K12 partnerships; or Erin Warren, associate director of dual enrollment.
Carefully review each course syllabus, where you'll find important information from your instructor.
After the course drop period ends, the withdrawal process must be followed.
Withdrawing from a course will result in a ‘W’ grade on your transcript. Failure to follow the withdrawal process can result in a failing grade, which will negatively affect your high school and M State grade point averages (GPAs).
You are responsible for meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards each semester.
You must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 and a completion rate of 66.66% to stay off academic warning (withdrawals, incompletes and failing grades adversely affect the successful completion percentage). If on academic warning, you have one semester to raise your GPA and completion rate or you will be placed on academic suspension. This policy changes for students who have taken fewer than 24 total credits.
If you are concerned about your grades at any time, please contact your high school counselor.
The grades you earn taking eCHS courses are part of your permanent college transcript.
If you have academic questions or concerns, please work with your high school counselor immediately so they can advise you on your best options.

Transcript Requests and Transfer Planning
Transcript requests
Request a transcript from a college or university NOT in the Minnesota State system:
Visit Forms and click on "Transcript Request" under the "Graduation and Transfer" heading. Your request will be processed within 72 hours. If you need assistance, call 877.450.3322.
Request a transcript from a college or university that IS part of the Minnesota State system:
If you are applying to another institution within the Minnesota State system, you do NOT need to request a transcript online because the college or university will have access to your Minnesota State eTranscript.
Transfer planning
How do you know if your M State concurrent courses will transfer after you graduate high school? The majority of M State concurrent credits transfer seamlessly to other colleges and universities; however, it is up to the receiving institution to decide which credits transfer and whether those credits meet their degree requirements.
Minnesota State system
M State is a member of the Minnesota State system. A course that meets a Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC) goal area at M State will meet the same goal area at other Minnesota State institutions. Visit the Minnesota State Campuses website to see a list of schools in this system.
- Syllabi - Students are strongly encouraged to keep the syllabi from their concurrent courses, since a receiving institution may request it if a transfer decision is appealed
- Transferology - This is a free online tool designed to help students explore their college transfer options nationwide.
- Appeal - All colleges and universities have an appeal process, so if a course doesn't transfer or transfers as an elective, take the next step and submit an appeal. M State K12 staff will also help advocate for our students. Email Megan Adamczyk, director of dual enrollment and K12 partnerships, for assistance.
