MoveItSecurely will be used to transfer files securely, as the software name implies, and also to transfer large files that are too large to send via email. This system is designed to send files securely to both internal and external recipients and replaces the transfer of sensitive data via email. Sensitive data refers to Social Security numbers, grades, drivers license information, etc. If you are uncertain whether data is sensitive, please use MoveItSecurely. For more information, visit MoveItSecurely.

Standard Hardware

Information Technology is committed to providing technical support to the faculty, staff and students of M State. In order to fulfill that commitment, it is critical that we establish common standards for hardware and software.

Students

Hardware standards for students can be found at Programs and Degrees. Due to the changing nature of curriculum, software, and course offering sequencing, the college will not endorse alternate specifications. Students interested in using alternate specifications are strongly advised to first consider changes that may affect their computing needs throughout their program of study. Limited IT resources may result in not possessing adequate computer and software resources.

Employees

The hardware requirement for employees is a Windows-based PC, unless an alternate model is needed for a specific program or business need. All faculty and staff computer hardware purchase requests must consult their campus CHC and follow procedures at Technology Fees and Resources before making purchases.

ITS has established a relationship with Lenovo and Apple to provide the campus with the most competitive pricing. Employees should expect that a new computer provided to them may meet their needs for 3-4 years.
