Description

Students will review material learned in ECHO1100, ECHO1110 and ECHO2100. This course will cover material to prepare students for the National Registry exam. Students will review cardiac anatomy, physiology, heart and vascular pressures, chamber quantification, system operations, scanning views with associated anatomy, Color/Spectral Doppler and quantification of abnormal findings.

  2. Explain systolic and diastolic function.
  3. Recognize abnormal cardiac structure and function.
  4. Document normal and abnormal Doppler waveforms.
  5. List cardiac segments and structures demonstrated in each cardiac view.
  6. Utilize critical thinking skills to evaluate pathologies.
  7. Summarize ability to perform a comprehensive evaluation of cardiac pathology.
  8. Understand medical emergencies that may arise in the echocardiography lab.
